From Dawn's Desk

Last month, Schoolhouse Educational and Therapeutic Services, LLC launched an original monthly digital publication for Catholic educators entitled, Literacy Letters. Literacy Letters has been a lifetime in the making. It represents all of the training and support I wish I had as a young Catholic school teacher thirty years about teaching my students to read and write and 30 years of studying literacy education. My hope is that you will find within it, practical and meaningful instructional practices grounded in the mission of the Catholic schools, to grow your students faith through language and literature. From the littles to the middles, what you learn in the pages of Literacy Letters should guide you form your studentsn and explicitly instruct them to successfully engage with and celebrate reading of God's word and writing from an authentic place.
February's issue is a Focus on Fluency and Prosody. We hope you enjoy this publication, share it with those you think would benefit and provide feedback about what you'd like to learn about. Feel free to email me at dflorino@schoolhouseservices.org. By subscribing to this blog, you will receive an email with the link to the future issues of the Literacy Letters monthly publication.
